Surval Montreux

Breathtaking location

Breathtaking location

Surval is set in a stunning hillside location just above the town of Montreux - the centre of the Montreux Riviera. About 25,000 people live in Montreux, and the city provides a safe and friendly environment for our international students. Well known for the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreux is in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It is at the centre for visiting other European cities, an opportunity much valued during summer camp and in school year by older girls who frequently travel at weekends.

Surval is a 20 minute walk from the town centre. As an optional session, the school minibus drives girls down to Montreux so they can enjoy walking, cycling or roller skating along the lakeside promenade; or simply enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate with their friends in one of the many cafés. High quality shops are always an attraction, and during the Jazz Festival Montreux provides a wonderful location as piers are built into the lake to house small cafes and restaurants during the Festival period. It offers an ideal shopping opportunity for unusual presents. The safety of the town itself provides peace of mind for parents, whilst the opportunity to go to Montreux or neighbouring towns gives many girls a new independence.
