Boarding, Care and Wellbeing

A safe, supportive home for the summer

At Surval Summer Camp, girls are cared for in a warm, structured and nurturing boarding environment. Our campus becomes a true home away from home, where girls feel safe, supported and comfortable from the moment they arrive.

With a small community and experienced staff, we take great care to ensure that every girl feels known as an individual and supported both practically and emotionally throughout her stay.

Comfortable boarding accommodation

Girls stay in shared bedrooms, usually with two or three others, creating a friendly and social living environment. Rooms are comfortable, bright and well maintained, with many offering views of Lake Geneva or the surrounding mountains.

Boarding life is designed to feel relaxed and welcoming, with shared spaces where girls can spend time together, rest or talk with friends after busy days.

A caring and experienced team

Our boarding and pastoral team is made up of experienced professionals who work closely with teachers and activity leaders. Staff are present throughout the day and night, ensuring consistent care and supervision.

Each girl is supported by adults who get to know her well, notice how she is feeling and respond quickly if she needs help, reassurance or encouragement.

Wellbeing at the heart of camp life

The wellbeing of every camper is a priority. Daily routines are designed to balance activity with rest, helping girls feel energised without becoming overwhelmed.

We support girls with:

  • Settling in and adjusting to camp life
  • Managing homesickness in a gentle and understanding way
  • Establishing healthy routines for sleep, meals and activity
  • Building emotional resilience and confidence

Girls are encouraged to speak openly with staff and to look out for one another, creating a caring and respectful community.

Meals, nutrition and shared moments

Meals are an important part of daily life at Surval Summer Camp. Girls enjoy healthy, well-balanced meals prepared on site, with attention to dietary needs and preferences.

Mealtimes are social occasions, where girls practise conversation, table manners and cultural awareness in a relaxed setting. These shared moments often become some of the most enjoyable parts of the day.

Safety, structure and reassurance

Surval provides a structured and well supervised environment where girls can enjoy independence within clear boundaries. Activities, travel and daily routines are carefully planned to ensure safety, clarity and consistency.

Parents can feel reassured knowing that their daughter is in a secure setting, cared for by experienced staff and supported at every stage of her stay.

Growing in confidence and independence

Boarding at Summer Camp offers girls the opportunity to develop independence in a supportive way. Through daily routines, shared responsibilities and positive guidance, girls gain confidence in themselves and their ability to manage new situations.

Many arrive feeling uncertain and leave feeling more self-assured, capable and proud of how they have grown over the summer.

A place where girls feel at home

Boarding, care and wellbeing are central to the Surval Summer Camp experience. By creating a safe, caring and inclusive environment, we ensure that girls can fully enjoy their summer, make friends and focus on learning, adventure and personal growth.

For many girls, Surval becomes more than a camp. It becomes a place they feel they belong.
